GATT Interrogation
Connecting to GATT requires an explicit browser device-chooser confirmation, separate
from scan permission. Interrogation enumerates every readable service, characteristic,
descriptor and value the peripheral exposes.
Sensor Limits / Briefing
Classic Bluetooth (BR/EDR)
Web Bluetooth reaches BLE / GATT only. Classic BR/EDR devices (headsets, speakers,
car audio, most game controllers) expose no RSSI and no enumeration to any browser API,
on any platform. A classic-only device will not appear here. Dual-mode devices appear
via their BLE advertising channel. Use

Hardware addresses
The browser never exposes the real MAC. Each contact ID is an origin-scoped opaque
hash, stable for this site only. Most modern peripherals also rotate a
resolvable private address every 15 min, so a device may re-acquire as a new
contact. Persistent identity is best matched on manufacturer payload, service UUIDs,
or a GATT System ID.
Range estimate
Range comes from the log-distance path loss model
d = 10^((TxRef - RSSI) / (10n)). It is an estimate, not a measurement.
Bodies, walls, and antenna orientation move it several metres. Trust closure
direction over the absolute number, and calibrate at a known 1 m for best results.
